Devotion, Colors, and Celebration: Krishna Janmashtami Fervor at St. Soldier International School!

“Yada Yada Hi Dharmasya Glanir Bhavati Bharata…”

The campus of St. Soldier International School transformed into a vibrant spiritual haven as our students, from the tiny tots to the seniors, came together to celebrate the auspicious festival of Sri Krishna Janmashtami with immense joy, devotion, and enthusiasm.

Here is a glimpse of how our school immersed itself in the divine colors of Kanha's love and teachings!

1. A Glimpse of Vrindavan on Campus

The celebrations commenced with a special morning assembly. The entire school premises were beautifully adorned with fresh marigold flowers, colorful balloons, and exquisite rangolis. A beautifully decorated Jhula (cradle) with Bal-Gopal (Baby Krishna) was placed at the center, creating a serene and divine ambiance that filled everyone's heart with peace.

2. When Little Radhas and Krishnas Walked the Earth

The highlight of the day was undoubtedly the Fancy Dress showcase by our Kindergarten and Primary wing students. The tiny tots looked absolutely adorable dressed as Little Krishnas with peacock feathers in their crowns, holding flutes, and wearing yellow dhotis. Matching their steps were our little girls dressed as elegant Radhas. Their innocent smiles and mischievous poses captured everyone's heart!

3. Soul-Stirring Cultural Performances

The middle and senior school students brought the stories of Dwapara Yuga to life through a spectacular cultural program. A beautifully scripted skit depicted key milestones from Lord Krishna’s life—from his divine birth to his legendary Maakhan Chori (butter stealing) antics and the subduing of the serpent Kaliya. This was followed by mesmerizing dance performances on devotional tracks like "Govind Bolo Hari Gopal Bolo", which left the audience spellbound.

4. The Grand Finale: Dahi Handi (Matki Phod) Celebration

No Janmashtami celebration is complete without the thrill of Dahi Handi. The school playground echoed with the energetic chants of "Hathi Ghoda Palki, Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki!" as senior students formed human pyramids with great coordination and teamwork to reach and break the curd pot suspended high in the air. The energy and sportsmanship displayed by the students were truly commendable.

5. Words of Wisdom from the Principal

Concluding the event, our respected Principal addressed the gathering, extending warm Janmashtami wishes to all students, teachers, and parents. In their speech, they emphasized the relevance of Lord Krishna’s teachings in modern times:

"Lord Krishna's life teaches us the value of performing our duties without worrying about the results. The timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita guides us to choose the path of righteousness, discipline, and empathy."

The memorable day concluded with the distribution of delicious Charnamrit and Makhan-Mishri prasad among the students, leaving everyone with a heart full of joy and a mind filled with positive energy.

Hare Krishna! Wishing the entire St. Soldier International School family a very Happy and Blessed Janmashtami!
